The Splinters - “Splintered Bridges”
I decided to actually, you know, live up to my promise of finding new bands myself without assistance from blogs, music publications, etc. So today I joined Ourstage and was pleasantly surprised by the quality I found in just a few minutes of listening to their charts. This was my favorite song I found, and I quickly proceeded to send the band a message requesting that the song be available for purchase, join their fan club, and friend them on myspace.
The song is wonderful noise pop, the perfect combination of noise and classic indiepop. The Splinters are four girls and - get this - they hand-painted the covers of their EPs. Hold on, I have to get a picture. Here we go:
