Metric - “Help I’m Alive”
This is a great song. It hit me right away when it first got to the “my heart beating like a hammerrr” part, which only Emily Haines can pull off. I’ve been in love with her voice for a while, but it was her placing 10 on stereogum’s indie rock crushes list (girls) that reminded me to put this song up finally.
(But you know, on the subject of that list…she really should’ve been higher. Though I really can’t complain about most of their choices, especially Zooey Deschanel at #1. And, personally, I think Andrew Vanwyngarden should have been #1 for guys. I mean, Kevin Barnes? Really? Um, anyway, I think I’ve inanely rambled enough…)
